Serpentes- Planetarium Description

Serpentes, found at the tail-end of one of the outermost arms of the Andromeda Galaxy, is a moonless exoplanet that orbits a single red dwarf star. This lonely planet sits on a tilt somewhat more intense than that of Earth's, allowing for hotter and more humid summers, with equally as harsh arid winters. This planet is relatively young and has an extremely active plate tectonic system that is slowly splitting the planet's many large islands away.
The vegetation produces a large amount of oxygen due to the extreme strength of the sunlight, thus allowing for larger creatures to thrive on the surface.
The majority of this planet's creatures are (unsurprisingly, given the name of the planet and the shape of the landmasses) serpentine in appearance, however with hollow bones and feathered bodies- sometimes sporting wings that are usually capable of flight. They all have spiked tails that (depending on the creature's role in the ecosystem) can grab and collect vegetation/prey, and can come in handy for self-defense.
The smaller serpents are omnivorous, typically feeding off of small fruits and eggs found in forests and meadows.
The predators, however, are significantly larger and more bat-like in appearance, donning wings that span up to 25 feet wide, and are exclusively nocturnal.
Since this planet is has no moons of any kind orbiting it, there are no tides in the oceans. Because of this, most of the planet's creatures flourish on land rather than sea- with the majority of sea-life being only semi-aquatic and living near the shorelines.
